҉ DAISYSMILES ҉
ENTRY #1:
I AM DAISY!
You’re probably asking yourself, “Is that Daisy Smiling?”
Well…yes, I am, and aren't I cute?
Several months ago, I was probably the most content flower on the planet. My home was a nature center on the outskirts of Austin, Minnesotahttp://www.hormelnaturecenter.org/
This is where I spent my time, tucked far away in a pristine field as I basked in the sun. Every day was a gift to me. Surrounded by friends and family I relished every breath. The sky was a canvas as my imagination created art out of the clouds.

This is where I spent my time, tucked far away in a pristine field as I basked in the sun. Every day was a gift to me. Surrounded by friends and family I relished every breath. The sky was a canvas as my imagination created art out of the clouds.
Chunky bumblebee’s raced while frogs leaped and crickets chirped. I didn’t have a care in the world as my smile spread from cheek to cheek.
Then one day, I saw the most unusual creatures…unlike any, I had ever witnessed before. My interest was piqued as they casually strolled by me. Eventually, they came and they went, but I could not shake them from my head. I tried to follow, but unfortunately, someone like me is stuck in one place for the duration of my existence. I became troubled and distressed by my predicament.
If only there was a way for me to investigate the strangers who passed my way.
When my unrest finally reached a climax, I heard a mother’s voice calling me from above, “Dear little Daisy, why does your tender heart yearn?”
I could not believe what I was hearing as I quickly responded, “What were those things I just saw…and who are you?”
“I am your Mother and the inhabitants of this earth call me, ‘Mother Nature’. Those creatures you saw are called humans,” she responded.
“You’re Mother Nature?” I asked rhetorically.
She simply laughed at my statement and said, “I am, but you can call me Mona.”
“Mona. Why do you want me to call you Mona?” I asked.
“It is the first two letters of ‘Mother’ and the first two letters of ‘Nature’…Mona!”
“Whoa, you’re smart and funny,” I told her.
We had the loveliest conversation about existence and its divine purpose. She taught me so much about the circle of life and how important we all are. The more I learned, the more I desired to see all the wonderful things of this earth.
I didn’t want my mother to leave so I asked her, “Is there anything I can do to partake in the treasures on this planet?”
I feel like she was hoping I would ask such a question as she responded, “Right now the earth is in turmoil, pain, and struggling. My dear little Daisy, I would like you to be an ambassador for nature and show everyone all the beauty that exists.”
I was awe struck at this sudden responsibility, but I had to ask, “Mother, how can I do this when I am stuck in one place?”
“My child, I will provide you with the means to travel the world and begin your adventure,” she told me.
At that moment I felt the warmth of life as I started to grow arms and legs. An amazing change flooded over me as I took my first few steps.
“How is this possible?” I asked with gratitude.
“I am the Mother of this earth and all the elements and substances are at my command. Your powers consist of a personal recipe I created; which is a hydro-solar-kinetic-neuroempathic-adaptive-metabo-cellular body.”
“Huh…what…whhhooooaaa!” I stumbled to put together a logical response.
“Essentially it means that any water, sun or movement energizes you and your metabolism at a cellular level. This powers your new nervous system, which allows you to feel empathy and adapt to any situation. One cool thing is that you can grow and shrink whenever you want. Your body can also withstand extreme cold and heat. You will be able to eat and digest all foods.” Mona explained.
“I have no idea what that means, but it sounds super cool,” I told her.
Mona went on to explain, “Don’t worry sweetie, you will understand all these things with time. All this is possible though, with two substances (currently undiscovered by humans); they are known as ‘Alpha Carbon Atoms’ (ACA) and ‘Omega Molecules’ (OM). The ACA's influence, guide, and control all the carbon atoms, which is one of the most abundant elements in existence. The OM's fill in all the gaps and support the ACA's. I have infused your DNA with these two substances.”
“Ok, you have to explain that one to me,” I pleaded with her.
“Nucleotides, which are molecules that make up Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA, contain something called a nitrogen base. These four nitrogen bases are, (T) thymine, (A) adenine, (G) guanine and (C) cytosine. The order of these determines a genetic code or instructions for the DNA. Laced within the T, A, G and C are the (A) alpha carbon atoms and (O) omega molecules.” She taught me.
To illustrate what she is talking about, I created an example of what a DNA sequence would look like:
Now, if you examine closely, this is what my new DNA looks like:
Pretty cool huh! Who would have ever known that you could infuse DNA with extra elements to enhance their attributes?
In the beginning, my new body took some getting used to. As I learned how to walk, run, jump and adjust to my strength and powers, she prepared me for this planet and taught me all the “ins-and-outs” of participating with humans.
Mona explained my mission in further detail…I was to experience all things that make humanity special, magnificent and unique.
While living among them, I would have the opportunity to experience all cultures; eating their food, experiencing art and entertainment, work, family, joy, pain, loss, and love!
I was very overwhelmed at this responsibility, but Mona promised she would watch over me. She would guide and direct me; all I had to do was ask. Although she highlighted humanity’s wonderful aspects, she also warned me that in certain ways humans were misguided and sometimes do not live up to the responsibilities of being stewards of this bountiful planet. As I would grow in wisdom and knowledge, Mona charged me to show humanity a better way when there is one.
My mother had prepared me the best she could…it was now up to me to experience life and learn to be the best ambassador I could be!
When I was ready, I gave my mother a big hug and then I boarded a plane so I could start my journey! My first destination would be the metropolitan region of Minnesota, which is the land of 10,000 lakes, or so they say…I’ll have to put that one to the test. Mona told me this would be the best place to start…they have an abundance of art, entertainment, and food. They also have a unique mixture of urban life and nature.
How is everybody not flying all the time?
I could barely contain myself as I landed at Minneapolis and St. Paul international airport. What an amazing experience…well, all except for TSA; I told Trent, (he’s the agent) “Mother Nature, sent me on a quest and I’m an ambassador for the earth. My mission is to show everyone their importance and all the beauty this planet possesses and if you think I can hide anything in this body you are truly bonkers!”

Well! Let’s just say, even though I was warned, you never call a TSA agent “bonkers”…if they want to search you; you let ‘um!
Hey, I’m still getting used to this whole…going places thing, there’s going to be a few bumps and bruises along the way. I have learned my lesson though and Trent and I are now Facebook friends, so it’s all good.
They have a stressful duty and I told him that I would give a “shout-out” to all the TSA "peeps" (I love learning new words) and how thankful we are that they work hard to keep our travels safe.
I went to rent a car…ok, now how you humans do all this on a daily basis is beyond me. Here’s some advice: “If you get too stressed, trying being a flower for a day…stay in one place, relax and enjoy the sun!”
After a short explanation of what I was doing and why a flower was trying to rent a car, they totally hooked me up (another phrase Trent taught me)!
After cruising around in “PINKY” for a few hours I met some cool people. I asked them, “What is the one thing someone should experience in their lifetime?”
Without hesitation, they all answered, “PIZZA!”
So I asked them, “What is this ‘pizza’ experience you all so adamantly agree upon?”
After they all looked at each other, they told me, “We’ll have to show you and let your taste buds do the rest.”
I truly do not think there ever should be a dispute that a good slice of ‘ZA’ (pizza) can’t resolve…if not, then you humans should seriously rethink your priorities!
Here are a few examples:
1) You and a friend are fighting – ‘ZA!
2) You’re mad at your family – ‘ZA!
3) You fail an important test – ‘ZA!
4) Your boss makes you feel like crap – ‘ZA!
5) You blossom next to the home of a skunk with IBS – ‘ZA! (I wonder if they'd deliver?)
You get the idea…and this is only my first day.
I just have to remember to take my time and enjoy all that I can. I’m not going to be able to experience it all, but I’m going to try and do as much as I can.
I love it when nature reminds of things...the next morning I was walking through a place called: “Loring Park”, I saw the coolest tree ever! It was so awesome I had to take a “selfie”.

Whhhaaaat! It's totally buff!
Then the one-liners flowed like the Mississippi River!

Oh, I've got more...
Ok, maybe one too many, but can you blame me!
I just want to say that I am really looking forward to experiencing all this earth has to offer. I hope you will follow me on this new adventure!
