DAISYSMILES ENTRY #2: ISLANDS OF PEACE.

DAISYSMILES

ENTRY #2

ISLANDS OF PEACE.

Today I found a hidden park!

This little gem of a park is located at:

200 Charles Street Northeast
Fridley, MN  55432

It is nestled along the Mississippi River about 10 minutes north of Minneapolis.

A series of paved switchbacks descend gracefully to a picturesque bridge.

This sturdy bridge offers an amazing panoramic view, allowing you a prime spot to take in the surrounding area. From here you can stare into reflective waters as you observe a plethora of nature. You may come across a bale of turtles sunbathing.

Painted turtles are native to North America and are the most widespread, ranging from southern Canada all the way to Lousiana and northern Mexico. They can also be found from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

You may even come across some alien looking creatures

Or it could be a moth caterpillar searching for a snack.

Or an army of caterpillars just hanging out.

You may also run into a spider with a humorous disposition.

After an interesting and imaginative stroll across the bridge, you will enter into the heart of this"smallgestic"(small and majestic) park. More continuous paved pathways will guide you through peaceful forests and vegetation.

You may even run into a miniature Stonehenge.
(Not exactly sure what it is used for, but it's pretty cool looking)

After making your way to the river's edge, you may want to skip rocks, take photos, fish, or...if you can grow to any height you may want to go in for a soak!
(do not attempt unless you're a daisy flower with super powers!😎🌼)

Well, that was refreshing.

If you continue to study the Mississippi you may run into some "fowl" friends.

If you're still and listen, you may even hear the unique sounds of nature...or a gosling noticing his brother's new haircut!

If you follow the northern trails it will lead you to a reflective view of the bridge.

Take your time as you journey around this surprisingly stunning park; feel free to meditate and enjoy your surroundings.
If you find yourself near Minneapolis, scoot on up to this oasis in the midst of a bustling metropolitan...I know you will love it!
